Are we too busy for Dr. King's Dream?

I recently visited an amazing community center that positively influences dozens of kids per week. The director and his staff are the mentors and examples for all these amazing children. The one thing missing was an abundance of volunteers... where are they?

It is said that our children are our most important asset, and Doctor King articulated his dream of children from all backgrounds fellowshipping and growing up together. Unfortunately in our cutting edge, up to the minute society, have we become preoccupied with the business of the day rather than the building blocks of the dream?

I challenge you to think of how you can reduce your operational tempo and increase your individual influence. Dr. King wanted us to be concerned about our neighbor, not just on social media, but when they are truly hurting. Dr. King wanted us to raise our kids to be respectful and love one another, not just be familiar with how to send the next viral tweet. Dr. King wanted us look toward the mountaintop as a nation, not look for the next reality T.V. sensation.

In all that we do, if we are too busy accomplishing the next "thing" instead of impacting the next "life" we  are far too busy for Dr. King's Dream. Only you and I can change this!
